How long does a windshield replacement take?
Generally a windshield installation will take two hours from start to finish. There is up to 1 hour of installation time and 1 hour of “curing” time. Curing time is the amount of time it takes the urethane adhesive that holds the windshield in place to dry to the FMVSS 216. No vehicle will be allowed to drive away without proper drying time.
Will my insurance company pay for my new windshield repair or replacement?
Yes, if you have full (comprehensive) coverage. Your only out of pocket expensive should be your comprehensive deductible. If you think your deductible is even higher, be sure to confirm that you are not confusing your “comprehensive” deductible with your “collision” deductible. “Collision” deductibles are usually higher, but not applicable to windshield repair or replacement.
What if I only have liability coverage?
Auto glass services are generally not covered under your liability policy. Liability insurance only provides coverage for damages to another vehicle.
How long does a windshield repair take?
Depending on the weather, windshield repairs can be performed in a matter of 30-45 minutes, start to finish. Remember, vehicle windshields must be dry for at least 24 hours before we perform the repair. The moisture may advance the pressure and crack out the windshield. If you have more than one chip, add about 15 minutes each.
Will you replace the stickers that are already on my windshield?
When possible, our trained technicians will take great care to remove any stickers or items that are affixed to your old windshield and will switch them over to your new windshield so that you will not lose the information.
